Different Types of Gaskets

1. Metal Gaskets
Metal gaskets include a variety of materials, from copper and brass to stainless steel, aluminum and nickel. Their durability and ability to withstand high temperatures makes them ideal for many different applications. Metal gaskets are available in solid form or as a perforated material. The perforated type offers the advantage of being able to increase the area of contact with the mating surface for greater sealing integrity, while still allowing for flexibility in design when it comes to application.

2. EPDM Gaskets
EPDM
(ethylene propylene diene monomer) rubber is one of the most widely used materials for gasketing applications because it offers excellent resistance to many types of chemicals, including petroleum products and solvents. EPDM also has good resistance to heat, making it suitable for use in applications where temperatures range from -40°F (-40°C) up to 300°F (150°C). This material is also resistant to ozone and ultraviolet light damage, making it an ideal choice for outdoor applications such as automotive engines or other equipment that might be exposed directly to sunlight over time without any protective coatings being applied beforehand first

EPDM is also an environmentally friendly material, since it can be safely disposed of in landfills and doesn’t contain any hazardous chemicals. This makes it a popular choice for gasketing applications where the materials will come into contact with food or drinking water.
